A series of blasts have hit a bus carrying footballers in Germany this evening. The bomb explosions hit the vehicle as it was carrying players of the country’s Borussia Dortmund team as they travelled to their Champions League match against Monaco.
Shortly after the attack, the below message was written by the team, roughly translated as, ‘Bomb explosion on the team bus at the team hotel. Player in security. No danger in the stadium. More information to follow.
German newspaper Bild have since reported that defender Marc Bartra had been taken to hospital with injuries. The match has now been postponed until Wednesday, and no further information of the blast is available at this moment.
