As another week draws us closer to Christmas, we find ourselves with a fresh instalment in the GRM Premier League, and this week we talk to Youngs Teflon.

Last edition saw me suffer defeat at the hands of Bonkaz, who managed to take the spoils winning in convincing fashion 7-3.

However, I’ll be looking to get back on track against ‘Jimi Conway’ a.k.a the legendary rapper that is Youngs Teflon.

The South London veteran is not only one of the best to come out of the UK rap game, but he’s also an avid Man Utd supporter.

With everything said, I decided to link up with the man himself and have a little chat about football.

How do you think Man Utd are doing so far this season?

I tell you what, we’re the most boring team to watch at the moment. We’re holding up results, but there’s no goals, flair or attack – it’s just boring to watch a full Man Utd match. All these 0-0 draws feel like a loss to me, I’d much rather a 2-2 or a 3-3, something exciting, you know? Van Gaal seems like he’s stubborn. He knows things aren’t going well, but he also knows that it’s the best we’ve done for a minute, so he uses that in his favour.

Who would you like to see at Man Utd?

I’d like to see Ilkay Gundogan come to Man Utd, because I’m not a fan of Schweinsteiger and Carrick playing together in the middle. Attacking wise, I’d like to see Cristiano Ronaldo come back, but I don’t know if that would happen. Apart from that, nothing would make me happier than seeing Riyad Mahrez at Old Trafford. That guy is killing it this season and performs consistently EVERY week. I remember the first two games of the season, I told my boy “this guy has got something”, and now, he’s the most exciting player in the league right now, in my opinion.

Why did you choose Man Utd?

When I was young, I wasn’t in to football as much as I am now to be honest. But it was when – I think it was Euro 96 – the Adidas advert with Eric Cantona flicking up his collar came out. I saw how bossy he was taking that penalty, and after that, I was like “yeah, I’m Man Utd”.

Favourite player of all time?

For Man Utd, it has to be Eric Cantona for obvious reasons. In the Premier League era, Dennis Bergkamp was my favourite, definitely. Of all time, it’s really tough to pick one, but it’s a coin toss between the Brazilian Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane. There’s been so many hard players, though.

Messi or Ronaldo?

Ronaldo. Don’t get me wrong, Messi’s the better player, but I just prefer Ronaldo. Obviously he played for Man Utd, so I have more feeling towards him, you get me? I’ll never say Ronaldo is better, though.

If you could choose one footballer to collab with on a tune (or cypher), who would it be?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, because he’s got style, attitude and all of that. If I was gonna do a 5-man cypher, I would pick Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney for banter, David Luiz and Joey Barton.

Make sure you go and grab your copy of Youngs Teflon’s new project “Trillin 2” which is out NOW on iTunes.
